Missing Post on Kowalke
I really enjoyed reading the article about Kowalke because he truly valued human life, no matter what happened in the persons life. I really liked his statement about what war is, "War is young men killing other young men they do not know on the orders of old men who know one another too well." This is too true. Look at the Vietnam war, look at the war in Iraq. These wars are perfect examples of the agenda of old men who believe they are right being played out violently by young men who have their whole life ahead of them. These young men's lives are cut short by the blind desires of these old men who are in power because they compromised their own ethics - if they were even there to begin with. Kowalke makes the statement that war is wrong by taking no side - which is the essence of war - and instead respecting all. He is a truly peaceful man.

vinyak's article is an interesting point of association--in terms of how it deals with father/son issues...
